Career

I have taught for ten years in the New York City Public school system.  I have taught Columbia University's Reading and Writing Workshop to hundreds of students, helping them gain independence and control of their reading and writing life.  During those ten years, I have engaged in a wide variety of professional development, designing curriculum to meet the needs of a wide range of students with varying abilities.
Previously, I was a television producer, producing commercials for clients such as  Volvo, Evian, Frank's Red Hot Sauce, and MCI.

I have always wanted to teach, and decided to leave production to pursue my passion.  I was accepted to the New York City Teaching Fellows.  The Fellows are people from diverse careers, disciplines and backgrounds who have committed themselves to making a difference in the New York City school system.  We bring our talent, energy and enthusiasm into the schools of New York City, and are dedicated to the achievement and success of the children within those schools.  Only 12% of those who apply to the program, gain admission.
